"Frighteningly Funny"
The car, a Volvo with 700 miles on the odometer, is . . . strangely . . . mesmerizing . . . and lulls Sydney into a somewhat intoxicated state. She follows Tommy upstairs to his grandmother’s bedroom, where she is horrified to discover just how the old woman died! But even more shocking is the truth she finds out about Tommy . . .
Meanwhile, researchers at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta discover a computer virus that is fatally infecting computer users all over the country! What they do not know is that other computer buffs are suddenly discovering that they have strange new powers! All are beset by frightening nightmares of a wizened old creature they come to call “The Gray Man.” It is he who beckons them to the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and reveals his fate for them ... and for the world!
This "Horror Lite" novel tells the story of Sydney, a petite red-headed computer whiz with a “checkered past” who decides to say goodbye to her twelve-year-old Toyota and buy a new car. She meets a handsome gas station attendant, Tommy Ross, and—against her better judgment—agrees to travel fifty miles up into the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina with him, to buy a car left to him by his deceased grandmother.
